I
always loved clay. My fondest memories of childhood are of making
mud pies and mud ball "factories" where I grew in Washington.
Later, I studied art at Pratt Institute , N.Y.C. and Hui Noeau,
Maui. I enjoy exploring for indigenous local clays along rivers
and roadsides in Alabama and Florida. I mix in sand from the ocean
or from the local creek bed near my studio in Autauga County,
Alabama. My appreciation for nature and the earth is apparent
in my work as I use leaves, shells, moss, and bark to decorate
my pieces. I find discarded broken glass to melt into some pieces.
I hope my art will help connect you to your local natural environment.
Classes- I am currently teaching pottery class in Prattville,
Al. I am now forming a non profit organization to bring underprivileged
youth the experience of creating with clay and nature.
